Alice + Chun: Married!
Alice and Chun were married on August 8th, 2009. In Chinese, 8 is a lucky number, so to be married on the 8th day of the 8th month is extremely auspicious. In addition, the pronunciation of 8 in Mandarin Chinese is “ba”, so on August 8th, or “ba-ba”, it is also Father’s Day in Taiwan and China, amongst other Asian countries. So, not only were Alice and Chun celebrating their big day, but honoring their fathers as well.
What a memorable wedding. The emcee most skilfully got almost everyone on the dance floor; there was not a dry eye in the room as father and daughter were both so overcome with emotion that the groom had to step in to finish the father-daughter dance; there was much joyful laughter with the variety of games that were played.
