Customizing each slideshow to the personalities of the couple is always the challenge that I love taking on. The pictures that are given to me tell me a story about that person – I get a unique glimpse into the people and things that gave them joy growing up. From that, and from my personal interaction with the couple, watching them interact with each other and the way they interact individually with me, gives me a better grounding in how to tell their story.
Selena and Abe came from different cultural backgrounds, but I could tell that they both had very happy childhoods. There are pictures of their families openly showing them with love, pictures where they are just enthusiastic about being alive. Selena’s love of cats apparently has been a lifelong one; I would never have guessed that Abe had played football as a child! They wanted to honor their friends and family with a special section in the slideshow, and when Selena pointed out that a friend of hers from junior high was going to be a bridesmaid at her wedding, I knew the pictures she had of the two of them from way back then as well as their more recent pictures had to be specially highlighted.
The couples section is always very gratifying because I basically get to tell the story of two people very much in love. And who doesn’t love that? :) The couples’ song choice was not my typical recommendation, but after telling me how much the song meant to them, I knew that the intensity of the song would clearly and accurately portray the intensity of their feelings for one another. What made the slideshow even more perfect was the cooperation with their professional wedding photographers (Serendipity Photography – check out their amazing work!) and getting pictures from them the day of and inserting them in time for the reception (for requests like this, at least one hour is needed between the end of the ceremony and going live at the reception).
Congratulations, Selena and Abe! And thanks for choosing thinkpinkcreative for your wedding entertainment centerpiece for your special day!
